This picture didn't do much for me straight out of the camera. Sometimes I just thumb through old photos to see what might be fun to manipulate, to take something that I don't really care for and change it into something that I like. For this picture I really increased the shadow contrast and decreased the highlight contrast in RAW shooter. I then processed it into b&w in PS 6.0. I used the lab color, lightness, grayscale, rgb, duplicate layer, soft light, ~30% opacity. I then went into curves to increase the highlights (thereby taking out detail) and then further added a noise filter. This picture told me something about the subject, whereas I felt the original didn't. |
